Personal Information

Dana is a lifelong resident of Eau Claire. He is following in the footsteps of his father, Ray Wachs, a former City Manager and City Attorney for Eau Claire who also practiced law in the area for many years. Dana and his wife, who is also a lawyer, live in Eau Claire and have three children.

Dana is a fanatic Green Bay Packers fan. He also enjoys downhill skiing, hunting, boating, fishing, playing the trumpet, and listening to jazz and classical music.

Volunteer Activities

Dana volunteers extensively with the Democratic Party. At election time, he is the Lead Election Attorney for the party and its candidates. Dana regularly serves as treasurer for political campaigns. Dana also works to advocate for issues that are important to consumers, people who need affordable healthcare and people who have been injured, addressing these issues with State and Federal legislators.

• Dana is a current member of the Eau Claire City Council

Notable Legal Achievements

• Negotiated $6 million, $2.9 million, and $1 million dollar settlements in separate medical malpractice cases
• Negotiated a $1.3 million dollar settlement in a wrongful death case
• Negotiated a $4.5 million dollar settlement in an auto accident/product liability case
• Successfully argued before the Wisconsin Supreme Court for an expansion of medical malpractice law
• Negotiated numerous settlements over $500,000
